Immigration policy requires a complete overhaul to restore the distinction between legal and illegal immigration. Part of this overhaul is the determination as to what extent a guest worker program is needed. Failure to act will make it quite obvious to the indigenous population that U.S. citizenship has become worthless.
To an ameriCAN, border security is a core responsibility of the Federal Government. For decades, successive administrations have turned a blind eye toward matching immigration policy to what’s best for the country as opposed to politically expedient. The results have been disastrous. Failure to enforce a rational immigration policy is directly responsible for 9/11.
What else has this immigration time bomb foisted upon the Republic? In combination with open borders it has rendered the war on drugs impotent, is responsible for pockets of un-assimilable population directly responsible for terrorist acts, depressed wage rates, reintroduced heretofore eradicated diseases, and is hemorrhaging the treasury in an attempt to provide social services usually denied even legal residents. This is an unacceptably high price to pay for cheap labor and vote rigging schemes promoted by the republiCant and demoCrap Parties, respectively.
The republiCant and demoCrap Parties are 100% culpable in allowing UN-enforcement of immigration laws and disregarding repeated alarm being expressed by many state governors. The current U.S. immigration policy is “if you can get here, you can stay here (at taxpayer expense),” according to the First Citizen.
In a welfare state with an unemployed and under employed populace, sticking with the bygone era mantra of “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” is national suicide. Obviously the operative word now is FREE, as in land of the free lunch.
Any politician serious about addressing immigration policy reform would call for a complete halt to ALL immigration. Unfortunately, the current political landscape does not provide us with even one example.
The course of action necessary to reverse and recover from this calamitous policy misstep neither includes a round-up en mas nor a pathway to citizenship. Implementation of harsh financial penalties on employers, cessation of welfare for non-citizens, and utilizing the private sector to locate/apprehend visa overstays will signal a strong beginning. If a guest worker program is deemed necessary, it must be self-funding to the extent it covers the total financial burden created by immigration (legal or otherwise).
The Federal Government’s role should be limited to the logistics design to expeditiously repatriate with local governments assuming police powers associated with deportation.
Every time an illegal alien walks across the border or a visa holder overstays his welcome, your citizenship becomes worth just a little less.
This is unacceptable to an ameriCAN. Join us today!
